The 4th annual LI Lighthouse Challenge has been scheduled for
the weekend of May 17-18, 2008. See the official 2008
Challenge Page. Brochures are available at Long Island
lighthouses and other LI venues and will be mailed to Long Island
Chapter members.

Little Lights offer!
- New York Harbor Cruise
The Long Island Chapter co-sponsored a NY Habor Cruise, together
with the Harbour Lights Collectors Forum, on Saturday, June 2,
2007. We had a great time viewing lighthouses in both the inner
and outer NY harbor areas. Read about it in our Events
section.
- 2007 Plum Island Trip
This year's visit to Plum Island Lighthouse and tour of the island
was enjoyed by a full compliment of members and guests (as many
as we were allowed to bring). Notes about the trip have been posted
on our Events page.
- Gold Coast Cruise Postponed
We have had to postpone our Gold Coast Cruise to see some of Long
Island's North Shore lighthouses until next Spring. Details will
be posted in our Events Section as they become available.
- Lantern Walk to Cedar Island Lighthouse
Chapter Director Bob Allen, the Great-Grandson of William Follet,
the last lighthouse keeper of the Cedar Island Lighthouse, along
with his assistant Netty, hosts free walking tours out to the
Cedar Island Lighthouse.

- Long Island Lighthouse Display

The Library is hosting a display of artifacts from
Long Island's lighthouses. These articles are from the collection
of the LIC-USLHS. Click the link above for directions and library

- Lighthouse Lecture, Film, and Slide Presentation
Jerry Leeds, our society's Secretary and Education Director, will
be giving his Lighthouse and other educational presentations at local sites in the coming

Island Art Print by Terry Elkins
