Membership is open to the public. Our
members contribute to the accomplishment of our goals and receive an array of benefits,
such as those described below. Chapter members must be members of the US Lighthouse
Society (USLHS). If you are not already a member of the USLHS, your membership application
is for both organizations. If you are already a member of the USLHS, you need only to send
us Chapter dues.
Benefits of joining the Long Island
Chapter:
Opportunities to help lighthouse
preservation on Long Island through a variety of activities. Our members DO make a
difference.
Participation in members-only events
and advance notification of all events.
Bimonthly newsletter.
Optional subscription to the Long
Island Lighthouses e-mail list, providing you with timely updates of preservation news and
alerts, upcoming events, lighthouse history and more.
Discounts on selected Chapter events
and merchandise.
Membership in the United States
Lighthouse Society.
Membership Categories:
Keeper $35.00 - ($15 for current
USLHS members) Basic annual membership, which includes the US Lighthouse Society's
magazine: The Keeper's Log, newsletters, a bumper sticker, and a membership card, plus all
Chapter benefits.
Keeper's Family $50.00 - ($20 for
current USLHS members) Same as above plus multiple membership cards, a window decal, and
10% discount on Keeper's Locker Items, plus all Chapter benefits.
Senior $30.00 ($10 for current USLHS
members) Same benefits as the Keeper membership.
Life - $750 ($700 for Charter
members, $350 for current USLHS Life members) - All Keeper benefits for life.
Of course, you can always make a
greater donation to the Chapter, in order to help local preservation efforts, and we
encourage you to do so.
If you are already a US Lighthouse
Society member, send us a check for the Chapter dues and we'll get you on board. The
membership year is from October 1 to September 30.
