Execution Rock Lighthouse

Execution Rock Lighthouse - Located in Nassau County of Long Island, New York along its northern coast, in the Township of North Hempstead. The rock upon which this 1849 lighthouse was built was named after a grisly Revolutionary War method of disposing of prisoners. It did not gain its brown stripe until 1895.

This lighthouse is best viewed by boat.
