Meeting at Fire Island Lighthouse
Saturday, February 1, 2003
from 11AM to 1PM
Author Van Field (Wrecks and Rescues on Long Island) will speak about the
goings-on around the lighthouse ( US Life Saving Service, wireless station,
shipwrecks), and USCG veteran Bob "Chatt" Chapman will speak about his
experiences while stationed at the wireless station in the 1960s.
The Fire Island lighthouse was chosen for this
meeting because of its central location, cooperative staff, and beautiful
winter surroundings.
No charge.
Open to the public - Non-members welcome.
