Suffolk County's Lighthouses

The Suffolk County Legislature has declared Suffolk County, the eastern most county of Long Island, New York, "America's Lighthouse County." To celebrate America's Lighthouse County, the first Saturday of Spring has been designated Suffolk County Lighthouse Day!

Since 1796, twenty-six (26) lighthouses have been built in Suffolk County, at eighteen (18) different locations. Fifteen (15) lighthouses still stand, giving Suffolk County the distinction of having more lighthouses than any other county in the United States.
